When It All Feels Too Much: A Little Love Letter to Mums Everywhere

Hello beautiful humans, and especially the wonderful mothers out there!

I recently had the absolute privilege of speaking at A Place 4 Us — a heartwarming, laughter-and-tears kind of evening with a room full of incredible mums. The topic? Feeling overwhelmed.

Yep. That feeling when the to-do list is longer than your patience, the laundry’s multiplied again, and someone’s asking what’s for dinner while you’re still holding your breakfast plate.

Sound familiar?

As a life coach — and a mother — I’ve sat in that overwhelm more times than I can count. Some days you feel like you’re holding it all together with a single, slightly fraying thread. And what I wanted to share with those mums, and now with you, is this:

You are not alone. Not even a little bit.

We often forget that behind every strong, capable, loving mum is a human being who gets tired, doubts herself, and needs to be reminded she’s doing a pretty amazing job.

A Few Things I Shared with the Mums that Evening:

💛 Your love is your superpower. You are your child’s biggest fan, their fiercest protector, their most faithful teacher. Even on days when you feel invisible, your love is showing up in a million little ways.

💛 Take care of yourself, too. I know, self-care has become a bit of a buzzword, but it matters. And it doesn’t have to be a spa day (though if you can, please do!). It could be five minutes with a cup of tea, a walk around the block, a book you’ve read three times because it makes you feel good. Whatever fills your cup, go get it.

💛 Lean on your people. Find your mum friends, your sisters, your neighbor down the street who gets it. Share the hard stuff and the hilarious stuff. Build that circle of support. It changes everything.

💛 Celebrate the messy journey. Not just the milestones or the shiny Instagram moments — but the tantrum negotiations, the bedtime snuggles, the ordinary magic of watching them grow. Be with them. Right there in the thick of it.

A Little Visualization I Love to Share:

Close your eyes for a moment. Picture yourself as a tall, strong tree — roots deep in the ground, branches reaching skyward. Feel the love and strength around you. Your child beside you, their light shining bright.

Breathe in love. Exhale doubt. And when you open your eyes, carry that calm and certainty with you.

To every mum reading this — you’re doing better than you think. Your love changes lives, even on the days when it feels like you’re running on empty.

Thank you to the incredible community at A Place 4 Us for having me. I left with a full heart and a renewed reminder that when mums support each other, magic happens.

Here’s to embracing the beautiful chaos and being kind to ourselves along the way.

You’ve got this.
